Triumph for “Ryna” at the Festival Cinéma Tout Ecran in Geneva

“Ryna”, first time feature film by Geneva resident and Romanian Ruxandra Zenide, won the grand prize “Reflet d’Or” at the 11th edition of the International Film and Television Festival Cinéma Tout Ecran. The award was bestowed on November 5 and comes with a prize sum of CHF 10,000. The film also won the FIPRESCI prize in Geneva, awarded by the international film critics association. In addition, the Swiss-Romanian co-production took part in the competition at the international film festival in Montreal (Films du Monde) and Sarajevo, and was awarded the Grand Prize at the Festival International du cinéma au féminin in Bordeaux.
“Fragile” by Laurent Nègre received the Prix TV5. It includes the reimbursement for copyrights by the French-speaking television station. The prize for “Best Swiss Television Film”, with a prize sum of CHF 20,000 and awarded by Swissperform, was given to the Swiss-German comedy “Lago Mio” by Jann Preuss. Actress Nadja Sieger received an honorable mention for her main role in the film “Fremde im Paradies” by Manuel Siebermann. Finally, the short film “Floh!” by Christine Wiederkehr was given the Prix Kodak for Best Short film with a prize sum of CHF 2,000.
