Leon Schwitter was born in 1994 in Lenzburg, Switzerland. He studied film at the ZHdK (Zurich University of the Arts) and completed his bachelor's degree with a focus on screenwriting. He is part of the Sabotage Kollektiv, a young production company from Zurich where he works as a director and producer. His first feature RETREAT (2022) was the first project of the production company and won the First Look Award in Locarno, the Golden Alexander in Thessaloniki and the Fipresci Award in Schwerin.In 2025 he co-directed the film THE WORLD UPSIDE DOWN together with Agostina Di Luciano which had its premiere in competition at Visions du Réel. He is an alumni of the Rotterdam Lab and Berlinale Talents. His newest films as a producer include I LOVE YOU, I LEAVE YOU, who won two awards at Zurich Film Festival and two Swiss Film Awards and FIRST DAYS which premiered at IFFR in 2026.
