Tristan Hell, born in Berlin in 1999, spent his school years in Berlin and Basel. He began making his first short films at the Basel School of Applied Arts. After internships as a production assistant at Milan Film in Basel and as an editing assistant at Dschoint Ventschr in Zurich, he joined the film programme at HEAD Geneva. During his studies, he became interested in experimental cinema and its integration into fiction and documentary subjects. He furthered this interest with work in the field of image and sound editing, notably ‘Eldorado’, which was presented at the Film Foundry, Young Swiss Cinema at the Locarno Film Festival and at the Francophone Short Films In Harlem in New York.
In 2024, he completed a post-production internship at Lightcone in Paris. With his short film PRIMORDIAL, he graduated with a bachelor's degree from HEAD Geneva in 2025.
