Ulrike Koch
Screenwriter, Director
Born in Birkenfeld/Nahe, Germany. Studied sinology at the University of Zurich and modern Chinese literature and philosophy at Beijing University. Worked as casting director on THE LAST EMPEROR by Bernardo Bertolucci and as assistant director on URGA by Nikita Mikhalkov. Her last work REGILAUL - LIEDER AUS DER LUFT was released in 2011 and was produced by Rosemarie Schneider, Doc Productions. Koch had established as a singular filmmaker with earlier works. Particularly influential was SALZMÄNNER VON TIBET (1997), which was made under challenging production conditions.
