Virginija Vareikyte

Born in 1986 in Lithuania. Lithuanian citizenship. After graduating in Film and Television directing from the Academy of Music and Theatre in Lithuania, she directed her first feature documentary "Face Behind the Voice" (2012) about a famous Lithuanian opera singer. The film was screened in cinemas throughout Lithuania. Her second documentary "When We Talk About KGB" (2016) focused on the psychological consequences that the Soviet regime and KGB violence had on society. The film was selected in more than 20 international film festivals. She is an alumnus of workshops such as Ex-Oriente, EsoDoc, and IDFAcademy. In 2019 she was one of the four filmmakers selected by The New York Times’s T Brand Studio, as exclusive creators of branded content for the European territory.
