Irène Jacob besucht ein Landkino, in dem eine Retrospektive stattfindet. Der 83-jährige Pierre hat sie dazu eingeladen. Er ist ein sehr gebildeter Mann und leitet den Filmklub, der den Film «Trois Couleurs Rouge» zeigt. Während der Vorführung sieht sie, wie Pierres Frau Simone den Blick auf die Leinwand heftet, den Mund aber stets am Ohr ihres Gatten hat. Als Pierre sich nach Filmende tastend erhebt und auf die Bühne tritt, wo er über den Film spricht, merkt Irène Jacob, dass der filmbegeisterte alte Mann blind ist…
