The beauty of a Syriac song heard in Maaloula in Syria in 2010 and the impossibility of returning to Syria are the starting points of this film. Back in Stockholm, where today the largest community of Syriac Orthodox, also called Arameans, lives, I met with a young Syriac. His personal story led me to the collective story. The narration is built in chapters, from Stockholm to Tur Abdin and Kerala to Jerusalem. The film is my personal journey into their world, raising issues related to copy and original, memory and territory.
