At the beginning of the 1970s Hugh Milne listens to a cassette of the spiritual teacher, Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh, and makes a trip from England to India in a search to find himself. Sheela Patel is taken by her father to meet the charismatic guru. Bhagwan urges his disciples to practice meditation and tantric sexuality. Hugh accompanies the rise of the guru while acting as his bodyguard. Sheela becomes the head of the model commune that springs to life in the 1980s in the mountains of Oregon. The dream ends as a nightmare, for Hugh in a nervous breakdown and for Sheela in prison. But the journey is not yet over.
