04.03.2008

Five Swiss films will be screened in Montreal at the 26th International Festival of Films on Art, which takes places from March 6 – 16, 2008. The festival features films which deal with the entire spectrum of the arts. The documentary films “Lüber in der Luft” by Anna-Lydia Florin (Freihändler Filmproduktion, Basel) and “Markus Raetz” by Iwan Schumacher will be screened in the “Creative Crossroads” international competition. The two films, both of which journey into the world of images of the performance artist Heinrich Lüber and Swiss artist Markus Raetz, will compete against 43 films for an award.
The portrait and homage films “Kunsthändler – Ernst Beyeler” by Thomas Isler and Philippe Piguet (production: Freihändler Filmproduktion, Basel) and “Riviera Cocktail – Edward Quinn, Photographer, Nice” by Heinz Bütler, as well as Bruno Moll’s “Die Tunisreise”, which accompanies Nacer Khemir as he traces Klee’s journey to Tunisia, will be screened in the “Trajectories” international panorama section.

While artistic personages are the focus of the Swiss documentary films screened in Montreal, the Freihändler Filmproduktion company from Basel is gaining attention with two productions being screened at the festival.
