Swiss documentary filmmaking honoured in Lisbon
Swiss filmmaking has an exceptionally strong presence at the 8th “Doclisboa” International Documentary Film Festival in Lisbon (October 14-24, 2010).

The twelve films presented in the Homenagem ao Documentário Suíço will showcase the development of Swiss documentary filmmaking since 1974. This enables the audience in Lisbon to discover such films as Fredi M. Murer's "Wir Bergler in den Bergen sind eigentlich nicht schuld, das wir da sind" (1974), Alain Tanner's "Les hommes du port" (1995) and Peter Liechti's "The Sound Of Insects" (2009), the current honouree of the European Film Award. In conjunction with this tribute, Richard Dindo will be present in Lisbon with three of his works.
Apart from the tribute and the two films in the International Competition, the festival will screen the following three Swiss documentary films in the International Investigations Competition: "Aisheen (Still Alive In Gaza)" by Nicolas Wadimoff; "Il nuovo sud dell'Italia" by Pino Esposito; and "La Cité du pétrole" by Marc Wolfensberger. The 37-minute film "Snack-bar Aquário" by Sergio Da Costa will be screened in the National Competition. Brigitte Uttar Kornetzky, Marc Wolfensberger, Pino Esposito and Sergio Da Costa will attend the festival in Lisbon to present their films personally.
