Nous sommes en 2008. Le monde entier suit les élections présidentielles des États-Unis. Un moment historique: un Noir se porte candidat à la fonction suprême. Près de 15'000 kilomètres plus loin, en Afrique, un petit pays du nom de Ghana se prépare lui aussi à des élections. Au bout de 28 ans, le réalisateur né en Suisse, retourne à Accra, la capitale du Ghana, où il a passé son enfance. Des souvenirs refont surface, mais ce que le réalisateur désire avant tout, c'est de voir comment ce pays du tiers-monde, jadis plein d’espoir, a évolué.
