Born in 1982 in Lucerne, Switzerland. He worked as an actor for theatre and film prior to studying filmmaking at KHM (Kunsthochschule für Medien) in Cologne. In 2008 he graduated with a degree from KHM. He received the German Short Film Award in 2009 and a special mention at the Berlinale for POLAR (2008). His first feature-length film, MARIJA (2016), premiered in Competition at Locarno Film Festival.
