In Salento (southern Apulia), millions of olive trees are dying. In 2013, the dreaded bacterium Xylella fastidiosa was discovered. With the death of the trees, the people's livelihoods and identity are dying. But the ecodrama began long before that. One observes, as in many places in the world, extinction of species, poisoned soils, water shortages, desertification...
The film shows people between activists, producers, politics, EU and science.
Nel Salento (Puglia meridionale), milioni di olivi muoiono. Nel 2013 è stato scoperto il batterio Xylella fastidiosa. Con la perdita delle uliveti, muore il sostentamento e l'identità del popolo. Ma l'ecodramma è iniziato molto prima. Si osserva, come in molti luoghi del mondo, l'estinzione delle specie, i terreni avvelenati, la scarsità d'acqua, la desertificazione.... Il film mostra la gente tra ambientalisti, produttori, politica, UE e scienza.
