The story of two sisters: Małgorzata, a loner by choice and a successful lawyer, and her younger sister Łucja, a contented mother of two daughters and assistant at Małgorzata's law firm. The two set off on a trip, the first in many years. They soon discover that one of the sisters is seriously ill. During the journey, the two sisters meet again, have adventures, meet other characters and change their outlook on the world, on life and on death, and Łucja manages to agree to let her sister leave with dignity.
