Cäsar Dubler (Wohlen AG, 1888 – Barcelona, 1948) lives life to the fullest: emigration and business foundation in Barcelona, family, revolution, flight, expropriation, civil war, and Spain under Franco – a story of rise and fall in turbulent times and what remains of the luck of a hardworking man. The filmmaker aims to counteract oblivion by seeking memories within the collective family consciousness, at original locations, and in archives.
