Jarreth Merz, an actor of Swiss-Nigerian extraction living in Los Angeles finds himself grappling with his heritage when he discovers that his father has died. According to Nigerian tradition, the first-born is in charge of a father’s burial. But who is this father? And why does Jarreth feel morally bound towards a family whom he hardly knows and who has never been particularly interested in him? Thus starts a journey of discovery into his origins.

Jarreth Merz, attore di origini svizzere/nigeriane che vive a Los Angeles, si trova a fare i conti con le sue radici quando viene informato che suo padre è morto. Secondo la tradizione nigeriana è infatti il primogenito che deve occuparsi del funerale del padre. Ma chi è questo padre sconosciuto? Perché Jarreth sente un obbligo morale verso questa famiglia che a malapena conosce e che non ha mai mostrato troppo interesse per lui? Per Jarreth inizia un viaggio alla scoperta delle sue origini.
