Hermien, a stubborn cow with a passion for freedom, escapes from the slaughterhouse with her friends Zus and Kees. Forced to survive in the wild, hunted by humans, she has only one thing on her mind: reaching Leemweg, a mythical refuge where cows are said to live in freedom. Through the forest, the mountains and the city, she embarks on a journey of discovery during which she will learn that freedom is not won through solitude, but through solidarity and the bonds we forge, even the most unlikely ones.
