In the office of the Women's Aid Centre in Lausanne, volunteers answer the phone. They try to help the callers by telling them which organizations to contact to get help in solving their marital problems, or how to deal with a separation or domestic violence. The more they try, the more they realize how powerless they really are in the face of highly complex situations and the lack of communication between couples, where women sometimes appear to have neither the right to listen nor to be heard.
