Reto has decided to bring a drastic end to the custody battle with his wife for their daughter. En route he meets the teenage runaway and American expat, Sam. He insists on driving her safely home to her parents in Italy. Their initially reluctant cooperation and the resulting adventure cause them to question their respective determination to leave their families behind.
