In the 1970s, they tried out new ways of life: Communes, squats or free love. Always in the hope of real change. Today, in retirement, they experiment with new forms of living and promote better ways to live and grow old together – in eco-neighbourhoods or participatory neighbourhoods where commons and sharing are important. What if these former activists, whose utopias have been muted by triumphant individualism, were right after all?
