Four teenagers in French-speaking Switzerland decide to take a gap year after the Gymnasium. Four different profiles, stories and motivations, with their fears, questions and dreams in relation to this special year. What goes on in the head of an eighteen- to twenty-year-old straddling the fresh end of adolescence and the beginning of the world beyond? For some, it's a chance to take a break. For others, it's a chance to get to know each other in a new environment. And for still others, it's a year of emptiness, forced on them by the lack of prospects for what's to come.
