The Institute for Scientific Film (IWF) in Göttingen set itself the goal of capturing all the world's movement processes on celluloid. The technical, ethnological and biological films that the IWF produced, archived and distributed worldwide until 2010 were to be “documents of reality”. The essay film explores both the National Socialist prehistory and the legacy of the IWF and reveals the active whitewashing of the Institute's history after World War II.
