“Giulias Verschwinden” wins award at film festival in Mons (Belgium)

Christoph Schaub’s fiction film “Giulias Verschwinden” won the Best Screenplay Award at the 26th International Love Film Festival in Mons, Belgium (February 19-26, 2010). The film was among the twelve works selected for the international competition.
Swiss cinematographer Renato Berta participated in the festival’s eleven-member jury. The comedy film “Giulias Verschwinden”, starring Bruno Ganz, was honoured with the Audience Award last summer in Locarno, where it celebrated its premiere on the Piazza Grande. The film has been nominated in no less than five of the eight categories for the Swiss Film Prize Quartz 2010, which will be awarded in the KKL Luzern on March 6. Some 167,000 viewers have already seen the film in the German-speaking region of Switzerland. It will be released in cinemas in the French-speaking region of Switzerland on March 3 (distributor: Columbus Film, Zurich).
