Rafael Bolliger & Peter Volkart at Sapporo Short Fest

08.10.2015

A total of ten Swiss short films will be screened in competition sections at the 10th Sapporo International Short Film Festival (October 7–12, 2015). Filmmakers Rafael Bolliger and Peter Volkart will present a selection of their works in the Filmmakers‘ Section.

Each of the four filmmakers selected by the festival to compete in the Filmmakers‘ Section compiled a 45-minute programme of various short films. The award in this section does not go to one single film, but to the filmmaker with his or her selection of films. Rafael Bolliger’s selection comprises “Circleline” (2009), “Falling” (2010), “Der Barber” (2013) and “Clones” (2015). Peter Volkart has selected “Terra incognita” (2005), “Zimmer 606” (2012) and “Subotika. Land of Wonders” (2015). The latest films by the two directors premiered at the NIFFF in Neuchâtel in July. Both directors are travelling to Japan to present their works personally, thanks to support from SWISS FILMS.

Three Swiss animation films in International Competition
In the One Title Section, the international Competition, three animation films will be screened in the Family & Children programme: Lena von Döhren’s “Der kleine Vogel und das Eichhörnchen” (production: Schattenkabinett, SRF), which has already established an international festival career; as well as “One, Two, Tree” by Yulia Aronova and “Jean-Michel le caribou des bois” by Mathieu Auvray, both of which were coproduced by Nadasdy Film in Geneva.
