31.07.2007

17 works were selected to participate in this year’s national short film competition at Locarno. In the running for the "Golden Leopard" are: "Il neige à Marrakech" by Hicham Alhayat, "Twist" by Alexia Walther, and "Ménagerie intérieure" by Nadège de Benoit-Luthy, as well as a large group of first-time and diploma films by up-and-coming directors who have completed their training at Swiss film schools.

For the first time this year, a Swiss short film, "René" by Tobias Nölle, will participate in both the Swiss as well as in the international competition.
The "Pardi di domani" (Leopards of Tomorrow) screenings will take place on August 3, 6, and 9.
As part of a special program on human rights at the Swiss Film Day on August 7, six short films will be shown.
Finally, in the "Ici & Ailleurs" section of the festival, a program with auteur short films will be presented: "Le créneau" (F. Mermoud), "Einspruch V" (R. Colla), and "Agora tu" (J. Waltz).
