Swiss documentary films in Brazil

25.03.2008

Two Swiss documentary films are scheduled to be screened at the 13th International Documentary Film Festival “É Tudo Verdade”, which takes place in Sao Paulo from March 26 to April 6, 2008 and thereafter in five other Brazilian cities. The film “Vogliamo anche le rose” by Alina Marazzi (production: Ventura Film, Meride) is, together with 14 other film productions, in the running for an award, amounting to 15,000 reais (approx. CHF 9,000).
In her film “Vogliamo anche le rose”, Swiss film director Alina Marazzi, who lives in Milan, portrays the sexual revolution and feminist movement of the 1960s and 1970s in Italy. The film is visually supported by archival footage of the period drawn from a diverse number of sources. The film “Staub” by German film director Hartmut Bitomsky, was co-produced by Dschoint Ventschr from Zurich. Bitomsky’s film deals with the particles of dust – everywhere and ever present – and will be screened in the “Horizon” section.

The “É Tudo Verdade” (“It’s All True”) festival in Sao Paulo has organized a tour for the films participating in its competition in Rio de Janeiro, Bauru, Brasilia, Recife and Caxias – until the end of April.
