At the 24th Festroia Festival Internacional de Cinema, taking place from June 6-15, 2008 in Setúbal (Portugal), Switzerland will be present with two
films. The fiction film debut of Ticino director Fulvio Bernasconi “Fuori dalle corde” (Out Of Bounds) (produced by Ventura Film, Meride) will be screened in the First Works Section, whereas the short film “La valise” by Kaveh Bakhtiari (Louise Productions, Vevey), will be presented in the Competitive Section “The Man and His Environment”.

The festival, organized in the coastal city of Setúbal, focusing upon European film production and the independent international film making, has invited Francine Brücher, in charge of international promotion at SWISS FILMS, to participate in the international jury. In past years, the Festroia Film Festival has presented Swiss films on a regular basis: in 2005 “Strähl”, in 2006 “Nachbeben” and “Vitus”, in 2007 “Die Herbstzeitlosen” and “Das Fraulein”, have been screened in the competition. In 2004 the First Works Award went to “When The Right One Comes Along” by Oliver Paulus.
