Swiss success stories at Festival Cinéma Tous Ecrans in Geneva and at Short Film Festival Winterthur

Raymond Vouillamoz’s television film “Déchaînées” won two awards at the 15th Festival Cinéma Tous Ecrans in Geneva (November 2-8, 2009). Adrian Flückiger’s short animation film “Signalis” was also honoured with two awards in Geneva, while Irene Ledermann’s short film “Schonzeit” won the Reflet d’Or for Best Swiss Short Film (services amounting to CHF 5,000). This film was also among the winners at the 13th Short Film Festival Winterthur (November 4-8): Lorenz Merz was honoured with the Swiss Cinematography Award (in-kind products and services worth CHF 8,000), awarded for the first time in 2009. The award for Best Swiss Film in Winterthur, amounting to CHF 8,000, went to Nicolas Steiner for his fictional short film “Ich bin’s Helmut”, while Anja Kofmehl garnered the Best School Film Award, endowed with CHF 5,000, for “Chrigi”.
The film “Déchaînées” (coproduction: Rita Films, Geneva, the French Swiss Broadcasting Service TSR and Arte) gained a great deal of attention at Festival Cinéma Tous Ecrans. It won the TV5 Monde Award for Best French Language Feature Film for “bringing together risky subjects such as family secrets, feminism, adolescence, political commitment and abortion.” In addition, Adèle Haenel, the actress starring in the lead role of the film, won the Prix Tudor for Best Actress in the international competition. “Déchaînées” had already been honoured with the Swissperform Award for Best Swiss Television Film 2009 prior to the festival. The film will be broadcast at 8.10 PM on TSR1 on November 25.



Adrian Fluckiger’s five-minute animation film “Signalis” won two awards at Festival Cinéma Tous Ecrans: Audience Award for Best Swiss Short Film, amounting to CHF 3,000, and the Incentive Award for Best Swiss Short Film (two days in sound studio). Furthermore, the festival’s Grand Prix of the Multimedia Pact went to the four-part animation film series “Les valaisans dans l’espace” by Hatman.
