“Tandoori Love” in Japan

19.11.2009

The film “Tandoori Love” by Oliver Paulus is one of the nine European works to be screened as a “premiere screening” at the 16th Osaka European Film Festival (November 19-23, 2009). Oliver Paulus will attend the festival in the Japanese metropolis to present his film, which was honoured with Best Artistic Contribution Award at the Cairo International Film Festival last year. Furthermore, the festival has organised a special screening of “Tandoori Love” in a Tokyo cinema on November 28.
The film festival in Osaka showcases cinematic highlights from Europe in its “Premiere Screening” gala programme. Last year “Fuori dalle corde” by Fulvio Bernasconi was in the limelight; in 2007 it was both “Das Fräulein” by Andrea Staka and “Die Herbstzeitlosen” by Bettina Oberli; in 2006 “Vitus” by Fredi M. Murer; and in 2005 both “Tout un hiver sans feu” by Greg Zglinski and Bettina Oberli’s fiction film début “Im Nordwind”. Thanks to the partnership between the Osaka European Film Festival and SWISS FILMS, particularly outstanding Swiss documentary and fiction films have been screened in Osaka with the directors and actors in attendance every year since 2002.
