Robin Erard’s short fiction film “Elder Jackson” will be screened in the European Competition at the 26th Brest European Short Film Festival (November 8-13. 2011). The film is competing against 40 films from 22 countries for the Grand Prix. In addition, two short films – “Ronaldo” by Jan Mettler and Jan-Eric Mack, as well as the film “The City, Five Years Older” by Dirk Koy – will be screened in the “Cocotte Minute” Competition, comprised of 16 film productions no longer than eight minutes.

Film director Robin Erard will travel to the Breton city to present his film "Elder Jackson" personally to the audience, thanks to support from SWISS FILMS. Apart from the three Swiss entries in competition, three other Swiss animation films will be screened in Brest: "Danny Boy" by Polish director Marek Skrobecki (coproduction: Archangel Film Group, Ticino); "La fille & le chasseur" by Jadwiga Kowalska; and "Land Of The Heads" by Claude Barras and Cédric Louis.

With some 45,500 guests in attendance, the short film festival in Brest is the largest festival in France for the short film genre, following Clermont-Ferrand. The festival screens approximately 200 films and focuses on discovering young, talented European film directors. Parallel to the festival is a film market with 1,500 short film productions.
