Washington DC: Richard Dindo on artists, writers and rebels

Swiss cineaste Richard Dindo will present his most recent film “Gauguin à Tahiti et aux Marquises” and three other works at the renowned National Gallery of Art in Washington D.C. during the exhibition “Gauguin: Maker of Myth.” Parallel to this, Dindo’s “The Marsdreamers” will be screened at the 25th Washington DC International Film Festival (April 7-17, 2011), together with “Giulias Verschwinden” by Christoph Schaub.
The retrospective "Richard Dindo: Artists, Writers, Rebels", which the museum curated in collaboration with SWISS FILMS, encompasses films in which Dindo closely examines the lives of famous figures: "Gauguin à Tahiti et aux Marquises" (2010); "Wer war Kafka?" (2006); "Aragon: le roman de Matisse" (2003); and "Arthur Rimbaud, une biographie" (1991).
His film "The Marsdreamers" (2009) is about people who dream of living on Mars one day. Richard Dindo will also present this film personally in Washington DC.
