Born in 1985 in Switzerland. 2010 Bachelor in Film from the ZHdK (Zurich University of the Arts). He studied cinematography at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg. His feature debut as a cinematographer DARK BLUE GIRL (2017) by Mascha Schilinski, celebrated its world premiere in the Perspektive Deutsches Kino section at the Berlinale. In 2018 he won the Deutscher Kamerapreis for the short film BLUE SUMMER SYMPHONY by Sinje Köhler. His recent work includes SOUND OF FALLING by Mascha Schilinski, which won the Jury Award 2025 in Cannes and was selected for the Oscar shortlists of the categories «International Feature» und «Cinematography». Fabian Gamper was awarded with the Silver Frog at Festival Camerimage and was nominated as European Cinematographer at the European Film Awards.
