Isaac Sahani
Director
Born in 1992 in Boende, Democratic Republic of Congo. He lives and works in Kinshasa. He holds a state diploma in Fine Arts, Sculpture, from the Institut des Beaux-arts de Kinshasa. He is cofounder of Bokutani Artistes Réunis, a collective of young artists from Kinshasa, which he has been running since 2010. His artistic practice revolves around the visual arts, photography, performance and film. A critical thinker, the artist is committed to exploring issues relating to his country, the Democratic Republic of Congo. He has taken part in several exhibitions and residencies in Kinshasa, Lubumbashi, Brazzaville, Dakar, Paris and Milan. He is currently artistic director of YANGO, the Kinshasa Biennale of Contemporary Art, a cultural event created in 2014 by artist Kiripi Katembo.
