Born in 1962 in Lucerne, Switzerland. Works as independent filmmaker and producer based in Zurich. 2007 Cofounder of Okofilm Productions together with writer and director Andrea Staka. HAPPINESS IS A WARM GUN (2001), LENZ (2006) and I WAS A SWISS BANKER (2007) as well as the documentary DAY IS DONE (2011) premiered at the Berlinale. His English-language period drama MARY QUEEN OF SCOTS (2013) was selected for TIFF. His fiction film MY BROTHER MY LOVE (2018) premiered in Locarno’s competition. NEMESIS (2020) celebrated its international premiere in competition at IDFA 2020, where it won the Best Cinematography award.
