Babeth and Momo are Swiss. In Zurich Oerlikon their half-Senegalese heritage is a bonus – until their father takes a job in Dakar – their mother's home town. For five years their godfather unsparingly captures this grotesque reversal with his camera. What emerges is an honestly authentic cinéma vérité portrait of two articulate teenagers who arrive as strangers in their supposed homeland – and leave as locals.
