Eyshe and her husband Kendal have lived with their extended family for 30 years in the Kurdish refugee camp of Makhmour, in the stony desert of northern Iraq. Amid war and constant threat, the self-governed camp, home to twenty thousand residents, struggles for a self-determined life, creating a place of emancipation and equality. Today, the camp is once again under severe military and political threat, and the peace initiative that was set in motion remains uncertain. Where do we find hope in times of seemingly endless uncertainty? A film about the possibilities of our shared humanity.
