Nineteen feature-length Swiss film productions will be screened at the 34th “Mostra” Sao Paulo International Film Festival (October 22 - November 4, 2010). Switzerland is present in the New Filmmakers Competition with ten film productions and coproductions, including the feature film “Opération Casablanca” by Laurent Nègre, the four episodes of “Romans d'ados” by Béatrice Bakhti and the documentary films “Beyond This Place” by Kaleo La Belle and “Nel giardino dei suoni” by Nicola Bellucci. Nicola Bellucci and Kaleo La Belle will present their films personally at the festival in Sao Paulo, which ranks among the most important film festivals in Latin America.

Three Swiss coproductions will also be screened in competition: the documentary film "David Wants To Fly" by German director David Sieveking (Dschoint Ventschr, Zurich); the documentary film "Im Haus meines Vaters sind viele Wohnungen" by Hajo Schomerus (T&C Film, Zurich); and the feature film "Le quattro volte" by Italian director Michelangelo Frammartino (Ventura Film, Ticino).

The international film festival will present nine further Swiss works in the International Perspective section. This year's Mostra is screening some 400 films at 20 venues in the Brazilian metropolis.
