06.02.2024

In addition to Swiss film productions, numerous Swiss talents from the spheres of directing, producing and acting will also be in the spotlight at the 74th Berlinale, among them three Swiss filmmakers have been selected for the Berlinale Talents programme.

The Berlinale Talents initiative offers film professionals from all over the world and from all genres the opportunity to present new projects and network with experienced industry representatives at workshops, labs and networking events. Thanks to the support provided by SWISS FILMS, three filmmakers from Switzerland are taking part this year.

Michael Graf, producer at Cloud Haze Pictures, will be presenting his film project BAD GAYS (director: Loïc Hobi) at the Talent Project Market 2024. He was coproducer of the Canadian-Swiss film SOMETHING YOU SAID LAST NIGHT, which premiered at TIFF 2022 and was screened at festivals and in cinemas worldwide.

Editor Myriam Rachmuth was honoured with the Swiss Film Award in 2021 for her editing of the film MY LITTLE SISTER. Her most recent work includes, among others, the Swiss productions THE FORTUNATE ONES by Jeanne Waltz and LIFE-SIZE PAULINE by Nadège de Benoit-Luthy.

Director and editor Lesia Kordonets grew up in Ukraine and studied at the ZHdK Zurich University of the Arts. Her graduation film, the documentary PUSHING BOUNDARIES (2021), has garnered a successful festival career and won multiple awards.

Five Swiss junior producers from Switzerland will participate in the Visitors Programme of the Berlinale Co-Production Market, thanks to the support of SWISS FILMS: Azra Djurdjevic (Filmgerberei), Daniel Schneider (First Hand Films), Philipp Rittler (Dynamic Frame), Julia Schubiger (Langfilm) and Lauro Jenni (Ivy Filmstudio).
