Mateo Ybarra
Director, Producer, Location Sound Mixer, Screenwriter
Born in 1992 in Geneva, Switzerland. Director and cofounder of L'ARTIFICE, he studied film production at the University of the Arts in London. In 2018 he graduated from HEAD-Genève (Geneva University of Art and Design) with a Bachelor's degree in cinema. He codirected LUX (2021), followed by OVER OUR HILLS (2022) and SUMMER CAMP (2025). His films explore contemporary institutions and social structures. They have been selected for and won awards at festivals such as Rotterdam, Locarno, Gijón, Thessaloniki and Jihlava.
