Stina Werenfels

Director, Screenwriter, Casting, Producer

Born in 1964 in Basel, Switzerland. After a degree in pharmacology at the ETH (Federal Institute of Technology) in Zurich, she changed fields and studied film at New York University (Tisch School of the Arts) in 1991. In 1999 she won the Swiss Film Award, Best Short Film for PASTRY, PAIN AN POLITICS. 2007 Swiss Film Award, Special Jury Prize for GOING PRIVATE (2006), which premiered in Berlinale Panorama. Her feature DORA OR THE SEXUAL NEUROSES OF OUR PARTENTS (2015) also premiered in the Berlinale Panorama and won, amongst other awards, the Grand Prix du Jury at the Festival de Films de Femmes in Créteil. She lives and works in Zurich as a filmmaker, author and producer.
