Born 1989 near Basel, Switzerland. A graduate of Munich's Otto Falckenberg School, Sven Schelker has been a member of the acting ensemble at Hamburg's Thalia Theatre since 2012 with roles in Macbeth, Platonov and The Tragedy of Romeo & Juliet, among others. During his studies, Sven received the Migros Culture Percentage Acting Student Award in 2010 and 2011. He made his film acting debut in one of the leads – as Röbi Rapp – in Stefan Haupt's award-winning “The Circle” which is Switzerland's entry for the Foreign Language Film Oscar. He was Shooting Star at Berlinale 2015 and won the Swiss Film Award 2015 for Best Actor in “The Circle”, for his role in "Goliath" he was nominated again in 2018. In 2015 he played in the US series "Homeland". In 2019 Sven Schelker celebrates the premiere in Cannes with the mini-series "Die neue Zeit".
