Quelques années après l’assassinat brutal d’une famille dans une ferme isolée du nom de Tannöd, Kathrin revient dans le village de son enfance. Le meurtrier n’a toujours pas été arrêté et Kathrin pénètre de plus en plus profondément dans les obscurs secrets du village – jusqu’à ce qu’elle s'aperçoive que cette histoire la concerne davantage qu’elle ne le voudrait…
