Gay Nazis, FBI informants, aliens — and Santa in the middle. Filmmaker Stephan Heiniger meets a mysterious hitchhiker in Vienna who dresses as Santa Claus. Michael Klein’s epic, decades-long story spans from Santa’s costume to Baltimore — where it all began. When Santa dies, Stephan sets out alone to uncover his past. He uncovers painful truths about identity, inner demons, and the myths we tell to survive. Simultaneously, he celebrates Michael’s stories in a magical paper world — caught between preserving and tearing down the facade. His journey becomes a confrontation with his own past. In an unexpected encounter, he rediscovers his faith in the healing power of storytelling.
