Born in 1967 in Zurich, Switzerland. Lives in Zurich and Berlin. After his studies as a cook, he attended the Zurich Drama School (1986-1990). 1990 Begins working at Schauspielhaus Bochum and is nominated for “outstanding young actor of the year” in the same year. Since 1992 works as an independent actor, ap-pearing on theatre stages in Switzerland and Germany, as well as in numerous television and film productions. 2005 Receives the Swiss film Prize for “Best Leading Role” for his performance as Strähl, the narcotics officer in the film with the same name. 2007 Wins the Special Award of the German Television Crime Series Award for his performance in BLACKOUT. 2008 Receives several awards for his leading role in the short film AUF DER STRECKE, which was also nominated for Oscar.
