He graduated from Bournemouth Film School in 1998. He directed his first short films SWAPPED (2002) and COME CLOSER (2004), which won the Swiss Film Prize and a Pardi di Domani at the Locarno Film Festival. RECYCLING LILY (2013) marked his feature directorial debut. This was followed by successful series such as ANOMALIA (2015), WILDER (2017-19), NEUMATT (2021) and OFF SEASON (2022). NEEDLE PARK BABY (2020), his second feature film, is one of the great successes of Swiss cinema. BISONS (2024) premiered in Rotterdam, was nominated for six Swiss Film Awards and won Best Actor, Best Photography and Best Music. The historical drama WINTER PALACE (2024) was the first series coproduced by Netflix and RTS. His most recent films are HELLO BETTY (2025) and EWIGI LIEBI (2026).
